Bhadrak is an administrative district of Odisha state in eastern India. It came into existence on 1st April 1993. The district is named after the town of Bhadrak, which is the district headquarters and, according to legend, derives its name from the Goddess Bhadrakali, whose temple is on the banks of the Salandi River. The district has an area of 2,505 kmē. Bhadrak town is situated at a distance of 125 km from the state capital, Bhubaneswar. Salandi River passes by this district. Bhadrak is home to FACOR, which is one of the largest manufacturers of quality ferro chrome in the country. Bhadrak town is well connected with the state of Odisha, and to other parts of the country as well.
